QUESTIONS

The things people ask before enrolling

It is a certification course designed to prepare Agile team members to work effectively within an Agile Release Train in a SAFe enterprise.

Certification is awarded by Scaled Agile, Inc..

No prior SAFe certification is required, though Agile familiarity helps.

Yes, SAFe certifications are widely recognized across enterprise Agile environments worldwide.

Yes, retake options are available as per Scaled Agile policies.

Absolutely. The course is specifically designed for Agile team members including developers, testers, analysts, and technical contributors.

Upon passing the exam, you will earn the SAFe® Practitioner (SP) certification along with a digital badge and community membership access.

This course has been revised to streamline its core lessons and to introduce new topics throughout the course on how learners can explore the use of AI in their roles. While the overall duration of the course remains largely unchanged, some materials have been removed, revised, or expanded to better align with the course learning objectives and to improve the flow of the content.

Yes. This update includes new exam topics on AI-empowered SAFe, crafting AI prompts, and responsible AI. The exam and practice test have been refactored to introduce new questions to assess these topics. The exam is still 45 questions and learners have a 90-minute window to complete the exam.

The Scaled Agile Framework has transitioned away from using version numbers. Consequently, the associated courses are moving away from the "6.0" base version. From now on, course releases will be identified by their release date in the format [release year].[release month].[release date]. Therefore, the current version of the SP courseware is 2026.01.27.

SAFe Collaborate was retired in November 2025.

Current Certified SAFe® 6 Practitioners can upgrade by completing the Essential AI Skills SAFe Skill, available in the SAFe Skills Library. This is a short, self-paced e-learning that takes about 45 minutes to complete. Once complete, your certification will automatically be updated to Certified AI-Empowered SAFe Practitioner, and you will be issued a new digital badge.

If you currently hold an active SAFe® 6 SP certification, there is no additional cost to upgrade. The SAFe Skill modules are included with your membership. However, if your SP6 certification has expired, you will need to renew it first in order to regain access to the SAFe Skill library and complete the upgrade.

When you complete the upgrade, you’ll receive the new AI-Empowered SP certification, but your original SAFe® 6 SP credential will also remain in your records. You’ll hold both certifications going forward, but you will only need to renew the AI-Empowered SP certification going forward.

There is no set deadline to upgrade at this time. However, if you already hold a valid SP6 and have completed the Essential AI Skills SAFe Skill, your certification will be automatically updated to AI-Empowered SP during the first week of February 2025.

Active SPs can either complete the upgrade to SAFe 6.0 via the upgrade learning path and then complete their SAFe Skill, or enroll in a new SAFe for Teams course. Either option will deliver the new achievement.
